Founder of Right To The Root Coaching

Hi, my name is Mirinda. My journey to Right To The Root Coaching began back in my elementary school days, trying to feel “normal” while living with hearing loss and wanting so badly to fit in.

Throughout my high school and college years, I often struggled with low energy, shyness, and a lack of confidence, yet I carried a strong, determined desire to succeed.  I have backpacked across Europe and lived in several Canadian provinces, experiences that shaped who I am and opened my eyes to the beauty and diversity of our world and people everywhere.

I always knew I wanted to work with children, which led me to pursue studies in Early Childhood Education and Developmental Services. While working in a day program in Edmonton, Alberta, I was inspired by the power of connecting individuals to their community through recreation and support services. I later worked at a summer camp for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities, experiences that deeply shaped my path.

Everything changed overnight with the birth of my first child. Eight years later, my second child was born, and my perspective as a mother grew even deeper. I learned quickly that knowledge is power, that understanding the “why” matters, and that sometimes you must become the voice for your child.

I grew up learning that shit can go sideways - and that you always have a choice. I choose empowerment. I choose to find something positive, even in the hard moments.

When my first child started public school, things truly went sideways. Year after year, something didn’t feel right. Why was my child refusing school? I became a fierce advocate for both my children. When they were diagnosed with ADHD and neurodivergence, I immersed myself in research, asked questions, and committed to understanding the “why” behind their needs.

I became an educated, determined mother, fueled by perseverance and a deep belief that anything is possible.

In 2023, I attended a retreat that empowered my body, mind, and soul. While driving away that day, I knew I had found the name for my work:  Right To The Root Coaching. It was inspired by my father, who passed away from lung cancer in 2009—a loss that shook my world and forever changed me.

Today, I am motivated and committed to supporting parents who are navigating root causes, asking hard questions, and advocating for their children with confidence and clarity.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, unheard, or unsure of your next steps, I invite you to connect with me. You don’t have to walk this journey alone—together, we can get to the root.
